Kimberly, Alberta: I recently took the Bettles Lodge & Chena Aurora Viewing tour advertised on your site. All in all, my mom and I had a great time. The vouchers made it easy for us to move about and it was spelled out really well what we were supposed to do. The Springfield by Marriott and the Chena Hot Springs resorts were amazing. The flight to Bettles Lodge was a great way to see Alaska from the air and we enjoyed it very much. We mainly went to Bettles Lodge to see the northern lights. It is located above the Artic Circle in Alaska. Expected to be roughing it, did not happen. The lodge is rustic in appearance but very clean and comfortable. I expected basic food, did not happen. The food was excellent. French onion soup, king crab legs, teriyaki salmon, shrimp pasta, sourdough waffles and swedish pancakes, all outstanding. The desserts looked wonderful but I was too full to try them. The people were very friendly and anxious to please. You could go to sleep at night and someone would come wake you up when the northern lights started (up until 2 a.m.). The northern lights were spectacular (though the lodge had no control over this). Also, they had a supply of winter snow gear, which I took benefit of as it was a bit cold there. Would do this again in a heartbeat.
